Bookings are essential, allowing us to prepare for and provide the best experience possible.

What is included in the ‘ Come and try session’ ?

Come and try is a basic introduction to the sport of long-range target
shooting. The fee is $80.00 per person and lasts 3-4 hours. Your course
will commence with a range safety briefing followed by instruction in
rifle handling and operational safety of the .223 or similar caliber
centrefire rifle. An initial practice session involving both dry and
live firing will be conducted at 100 yards on paper targets with a
maximum of 8 rounds. This is to allow you to become comfortable and
familiar with firing the rifle prior to joining in with the club
shooting at 300yrds. The 300yrd shoot will be conducted under standard
rules of 10 shots and 2 optional sighters, firing from either a prone
position or bench rest using a bipod & bag rest. Electronic targets will
be used for 300yrds allowing you to view your shots in real time.  The
session will commence at 8:15 am and finish around Midday. On completion
of your shoot, you are invited to stay and meet with other members of
the club who will be more than happy to talk and provide advice on
getting started in the sport.

On booking you will be emailed an
introduction to the basics of target shooting pamphlet, and indemnity
forms to be completed prior to the session.

Bookings are refundable if the club needs to cancel the session due to weather conditions/fire ban and for participants who provide 48 hours’ notice.
